Chief Keith Porch started his career in law enforcement with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff in October of 1994. He remained there until February of 1999; at which time he joined the Mansfield Division of Police as a Patrol Officer. While serving as a Patrol Officer he was also a member of the S.W.A.T. Team. and served as a detective with METRICH/S.I.U. from April of 2007 to May of 2009. Porch was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2009 and served as Sergeant of Community Service Bureau. Under his supervision as sergeant he had 18 patrol officers and he acted as Watch Commander at times during the absence of the shift Lieutenant and served as a supervisor for S.W.A.T. In October of 2012, Porch became Sergeant at METRICH/S.I.U.; coordinating among a ten-county drug task force. Porch was promoted to Lieutenant in May of 2013 while still serving at METRICH/S.I.U. as the commander. In 2013, Porch graduated Police Executive Leadership College where he further developed his leadership abilities and skills. In March of 2014, he was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police for Mansfield. During his role as Assistant Chief, Keith attended the FBI National Academy (Session #264), graduating in 2016. He accredits that experience as an invaluable asset in the many training/educational experiences he has completed for law enforcement. Keith was then promoted to Chief of Police in April 10th, 2019, where he continues to serve the Mansfield Division of Police.
