
The Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) mission is to provide efficient support services intra-departmentally, effectively liaison with other City departments and serve the needs of the public by supplying helpful information, referrals, and facilitating the delivery of emergency and routine police, fire, and EMS services. The PSCC is under the command of Assistant Chief. The current PSCC operations supervisor is Mark Huckleberry.

General Statement of Duties:
Under general supervision, operates and monitors communications equipment; dispatches emergency response personnel; date entry. Performs related duties.
Examples of Work:
- Monitors and responds to all radio traffic and telephone calls exercising independent and prioritized Judgement to ensure employee and citizen safety;
- Maintains availability status of emergency equipment and personnel;
- Monitors and transmits radio frequencies of common public safety interest;
- Transmits information to emergency vehicles (weather, hazardous street conditions, traffic problems, etc.);
- Enters and maintains computer data;
- Maintains logs, reports and schedules;
- Miscellaneous clerical duties;
- Performs related duties.
