MOMENTS OF OPPORTUNITY IN POLICE SERVICE

The Mansfield Police Division implemented the web-based Moments of Opportunity in Police Service in 2012 with the view that each citizen contact is an opportunity to win the respect, trust and support of the community. Recognizing the community is the first line of defense against crime and the most essential component in preventing it, positive citizen contacts will reinforce the community’s resolve to help us develop safer neighborhoods through community partnerships and participation.

A community’s willingness to cooperate is born out of the level of trust, respect and support they have for their police. All police personnel can leverage public support, trust and respect by embracing and promoting enhanced customer service in policing. This forum will allow you to view what others have said about the Mansfield Police Division.

Letter to Chief Dino Sgambellone Dated February 13, 2012

Please accept this letter as a small way of expressing my appreciation for all the assistance last week with the methamphetamine lab bust. This was an excellent example of outstanding work and great cooperation between multiple agencies with the common goal of drug interdiction. Perry Wheeler's assistance was an excellent example of your pride and professionalism in his career. Thank you again for all the assistance provided to the Huron County Sheriff's Office.

You pulled me over for driving without regards for any body else. Thank you very much for taking me to the hospital instead of jail. It turned out that I had a stroke, I was in the hospital for 5 days. I wanted to thank you for they way you handled everything. We need more Officers like you, you probably saved my life. Thank you again.
