MOMENTS OF OPPORTUNITY IN POLICE SERVICE

The Mansfield Police Division implemented the web-based Moments of Opportunity in Police Service in 2012 with the view that each citizen contact is an opportunity to win the respect, trust and support of the community. Recognizing the community is the first line of defense against crime and the most essential component in preventing it, positive citizen contacts will reinforce the community’s resolve to help us develop safer neighborhoods through community partnerships and participation.

A community’s willingness to cooperate is born out of the level of trust, respect and support they have for their police. All police personnel can leverage public support, trust and respect by embracing and promoting enhanced customer service in policing. This forum will allow you to view what others have said about the Mansfield Police Division.

Each page will be archived so you can review compliments from previous months. Click on the links below to access.

A letter received by the Division thanking Detective Packer:

Just had to send you a note thanking you for your compassion and kindness to me at the Obama event.  I was really having a hard time walking so far.  My strength is not what is was.  I must confess, my opinion of the Mansfield Police is a lot higher.  Thanks again.  You are a true Gentlemen.

    -Clare C.

E-Mail received by the Office of the Chief:

I want to compliment and thank Officer Garrick for her weeks of researching the legality of pit bulls in the City of Mansfield. She kept us updated on her progress, as she was told different answers by different people. After receiving a current legal opinion, a summons was served to an offender in our area. This individual has ongoing issues and the event could have turned dangerous, but Officer Garrick did not shirk her duty and she successfully dealt with the concern. Many neighbors are grateful for her efforts.

The caller expressed gratitude for the METRICH Enforcement Unit and for their assistance in handling a problem with a family member.  The caller stated the officers really “know their stuff” and as a citizen he was proud to have a unit like METRICH in the community.

    Carolyn:

I received a citizen compliment form that informed me of what an extremely professional job you did in dealing with a person struggling with mental health issues recently.  The citizen went on to say that now the individual will get the treatment they need thanks to your efforts.

     Great job!

On behalf of our family, we would like to acknowledge the outstanding performance of Officer S.
